For training, I travelled to China, Hong Kong, Korea (for two weeks), and several times to the Kodokan Judo Institute in Tokyo, Japan, where I trained intensely for a month at a time. Looking back, those training sessions were demanding, especially for professional athletes, running from early morning until 6 or 7 pm.

 

Throughout my career, I participated in numerous competitions, both big and small. The most significant was the 7th Fukuoka International Woman’s Judo Championships in Japan, where I faced a very strong opponent from Korea in my first match. Another highlight was in Christchurch, New Zealand, where I secured 2nd place. Outside of Judo, I was active in school sports, particularly long-distance running, where I was proud to win 1st place.

 

Before continuing my studies, I worked in Macau’s Judiciary Police, specifically in the Interpol Department. During that time, I learned a lot from Inspector Sebastião Rosa and gained valuable experience.

 

After my grandfather passed away, I decided to change my academic path from Medicine to Information Technology. While I’ve always been someone who connects emotionally with people, I also enjoy working with computers. I find satisfaction in troubleshooting and repairing parts when something isn’t working—something I often do at home, even with the many broken parts I keep as a hobby. This passion for technology is what motivated me to study IT in Melbourne, Australia, instead of Portugal.

 

As I reflect on my journey, the vivid memories of battling sickness while studying in Melbourne, Australia flood my mind. The daunting decision to return to Macau for treatment marked the beginning of an uncertain chapter in my life—a roller coaster ride for both myself and my family. The difficult path to recovery, with its peaks and valleys, felt like an eternity before I could reintegrate into society.

 

Amid the struggles, a glimmer of hope entered my life through an unexpected source—playing the game called “Animal Crossing” on my Nintendo Switch. Intrigued by a friend’s life-changing experience with a lifestyle shift, I embarked on my own natural journey. Exploring deep into research, I unravelled the harmful effects of toxins on our well-being and unearthed the remarkable world of natural remedies. From swapping synthetic fragrances in favor of essential oils to embracing chemical-free cleaners, we underwent transformative changes.

 

I saw so many incredible transformations in my dear Grandma thanks to essential oils. She had a wealth of stories and stayed a committed believer in their wellness properties until her final days. This is why I lovingly call her my Oily Grandma.

 

Also, my beloved doggie, Whiskey the Chow, whom I adopted and welcomed him to our home when he was 6-7 months, initially timid and fearful of the world around him, now finds solace and comfort in the soothing aroma of oils that I either diffuse into the air or gently apply to his fur. Consequently, every time a package arrives at our doorstep, Inspector Whiskey diligently inspects its contents, earning himself the endearing title that affectionately reflects his newfound role as the guardian of our deliveries.
